Whitney DuBarry Hay


Whitney DuBarry is a youth mental health advocate and the founder of Mind & Matter. With a M.A in Psychology from Pepperdine University, she is passionate about advocating for underserved youth and creating programs to reconnect the mind and body after trauma. Her perspective on the topic has appeared on NBC and numerous podcasts. Whitney's love for people and the planet flourished while working with Golden Voice for numerous music festivals, then with Heal the Bay as the Development Specialist of Corporate Partnerships. She lives in Southern California.

Bill Hay


As an entrepreneurial duo, Bill Hay built a life, business, and moral code with his wife Denise DuBarry Hay. Together, they founded Thane International in 1990. In their partnership, Bill focused on the financial, team building, and admin side of Thane’s relationships, building the entire management team and recruiting successors for the business.Holding an Engineering Degree in Applied Mathematics and an MBA from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Bill has a strong background in business and finance.After a lifetime working in broadcast, entertainment, and marketing companies, Bill decided to return to his farming roots and started Secret Beach Organics in 2014 with his son Adam on the north shore of Kauai. Currently, the organic farm sells and ships certified organic turmeric to health markets and juice companies across the nation. In light of the loss of his wife of 30 years, Bill has co-founded the DuBarry Hay Charitable Foundation with his daughter, Whitney, to perpetuate Denise and everything she stood for. 

Sarah Rose


Sarah Rose is a recent graduate from California State University- Los Angeles, with her B.A in Psychology. Born & raised in Naples, FL, Sarah's passion for mental health is driven by an imperative need to provide holistic resources for underprivileged youth. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Sarah strives to be a positive role model for Queer youth in Los Angeles. Sarah  firmly believes that once you recognize your inner flame, you’re unstoppable . She has made it her life's goal to be the igniter for those struggling to recognize their potential.

 

Amber Hopkins


Amber Hopkins is a PhD student in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she conducts research on the neural basis of consciousness and works with patients with disorders of consciousness (for example, coma). Raised in Hawaii, she moved to California to pursue her undergraduate education in Psychology and Philosophy at Chapman University in Orange County. Passionate about helping teens and young adults realize their potential, Amber serves on our board and is also involved with several diversity-and inclusivity-oriented organizations both at UCLA and nationally.  In addition, Amber volunteers as a mentor for Project SHORT (Students for Higher-Ed Opportunities and Representation in Training), the first organization to offer pro bono mentoring through the college and graduate/professional school application process in an effort to shrink the socioeconomic gap in higher education.
